Step to Accreditation

The accreditation review process

Self study

The participate institution is required to conduct a self-study related to its quality and effectiveness and to prepare an analytic document that addresses all accreditation standards and key elements.

The on-site evaluation

The comprehensive on-site evaluation is conducted to assess the program's compliance with Mandarin standards. The evaluation typically occurs 1 to 2 day period. However, evaluator agency reserves the right to lengthen the on-site evaluation when appropriate.

The accreditation decision making

Based on the self-study report from each accreditation institution/unit, the outcome of on-site visit and related information, the on-site visit team will conclude on the suggested results, turn them over to the accreditation review committee for finalization before they are presented to the Ministry of Education for reference and official announcement to the public.

The accreditation results are finalized according to the overall performance of the accreditation institution/unit in each accreditation item as assessed by the evaluator committee members in combination with the self-study report of each accreditation institution/unit and the outcome of on-site accreditation, and the suggested accreditation results are made accordingly. After the accreditation results are reviewed in two separate stages (on-site visit team’s suggested results and the accreditation review committee), they are presented to the Ministry of Education to serve as references in formulation of related policies.
